Yesterday we all went to Moira Magnus’ wake. Moira would have been proud – everyone was making the most of life and enjoying good company.
Following a brief forray as “Borissey Mould“, we renamed as SHUX – to stay close to Flux.
For a short while in 1997, we were known as “Borissey Mould“. This was directly after we had found that there were too many bands called “FLUX” playing, in LONDON.
Another very sparcely attended gig. At the relatively new PowerHaus in Finsbury Park. The sound was AWFUL. They should have kept the PowerHaus on Liverpool Road in N1!!
We had the privilege of recording a whole album with Niall Acott at Angel Studios. All Live, no clicks, and just a smidgen of me screaming (unknowingly) whilst recording my drum parts. Recorded in 2 days – 17th & 18th September. Mixed and produced by the fantastic Niall Acott over the following weeks.
Mailing list flyer for a FLUX gig at The Orange, and also including details for a gig at the now non-existant Duke of Lancaster in Barnet (which is now a Sainsbury’s).
Photos sold to us by the venue of a FLUX Gig in June 1996 at The Orange.
This was perhaps the must UNDER-attended gig of all time. The people there were: The band: FLUX The bar staff The door staff The main sound man The monitor mix sound man The door security men The guitarist’s dad That was it.
Great photo of Alex Meadows in action at a FLUX gig at The Orange on 10th May 1996.
December 1995 was BUSY for FLUX and their printing operation, me. Alex Meadows provided design consultancy.
A retrospective post. This was a setlist for the band FLUX, back when we were doing a mix of covers and our own tunes. and here is the promo poster – got to love the inkjet look.
Blue Bone was the name of the Bass-Drums-Guitar combo made up of Adam Drake, Alex Meadows and I. In 1995 we popped to Amberslone Cottage to make some music.
This was our first Demo – we recorded 3 tracks at Cafe Music in East London, with Mark Sutherland.
Retrospective post. Here are a few shots from a 1994 Gig with Yuniea Semambo.
Retro post. This is to host a Rhythm Oil recording that we made with James Shannon in IMAGINATION STUDIOS. Yuniea Semambo (God rest her soul) features on vocals.
