A wonderful 2017 surf rock debut, with the sun shining across the roofs of Whitechapel.
Rehearsal for an upcoming secret London gig
At a very special event.
In Matt Farrar’s absence, I stood in on drums for a BJRP Rehearsal. Great fun – ups and downs, light and shade, and some forgetting of the tunes 🙂
Today had been planned for a while – the purpose was to finish off the Bass for all 11 tracks. Dan had done the 6 most familiar ones already.
Another cracking drum session at NJA with Niall Acott – great drum sounds immediately, and this time I had the guide stems all ready – so no hanging around!!
Just spent a day laying down the Drums parts with Niall Acott at NJA Audio Productions for the first 6 tunes from The Dees‘ new album.
Today I popped to visit Niall Acott down Maidstone way, and we recorded the drums for one of his tunes – “Faith Forever” – at Ten21 Studios.
Great rehearsal today. Another new tune. Another set of jokes and laughs about our accelerating decrepitude.
The Dees just spent a great weekend recording at NJA Studios in Kent – Niall Acott’s studio. 4 tracks laid down, including drums, perc, bass, guitar, vocals and plenty of overdubs. Niall Acott masterfully managed the whole thing. Brilliant.
This was one of The Dees’ last gigs before activities petered-out in 2007 ish.
Retrospective post. The Dees rehearsing in The Premises rehearsal studio, back in 2006.
We’ve just been in Studio with Niall Acott to some tunes for The Dees. This time it’s a 4 track EP, and a little rockier.
The Flyer from The Dees’ gig at The Water Rats Theatre on Friday 24th September 2004. More pics and information to follow when as I discover stuff…
The Showcase for The Dees, The Album, in July 2004 at the Union Chapel in Islington, London. Right near Highbury Corner. Photographs by Conal Jones. Sound by Niall Acott. Lights and drama by Dan’s mates, inclluding Andy Audsley.
The Dees are in Studio, at Angel Studios in Islington, London.
Great memories of a raucous gig at The Garage. We had a full compliment of backing vocals, from the amazing Rachel & Sarah.
Retrospective post. This was the regional final of the National Rock School competition. We came armed, with Elspeth and Honor as BVs.
Retro post of some memories in 1990 – Ed and I jamming together, plus Robert Spenser & Ed on the sofa bed. Rob Spencer must have stayed over.
A retrospective post with some photos: The Famous “Paracetamols” gig at Felixstowe Girls College, 1989. The decibels were too high, Girls Screaming, mayhem.
